Intermediate School helps students make the transition between elementary and high school. The school culture is grounded in the tradition of educating the
"whole" child. Students, parents, community members, and staff work diligently to promote academic success and positive behavior. Cunha has two full-time counselors for a student body of approximately 780 students. The counselors work closely with students on their academic, personal, social and emotional needs. The school provides a safe, nurturing learning environment where all students, parents, and staff strive to meet high academic standards and promote lifelong learning. Half
Moon Bay High School is the only comprehensive high school in the Cabrillo
Unified School District. Enrollment is approximately 1000 students. The
school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges
(WASC). The school prides itself on having developed outstanding curricular,
extracurricular, and co-curricular programs. We are committed to providing an exceptional, high quality comprehensive educational experience for all students, which are driven by our four primary goals.

An agriculture department including Future
Farmers of America is an exciting blend of science and agriculture featuring
courses in Ag/Environmental Science, Ag/Biology, Ag/Chemistry, and
Agriculture Practices. FFA offers opportunities for leadership development
through public speaking, conferences, and hands-on experience at an on-site
greenhouse, raising animals for the San Mateo County Fair, and involvement in
internship programs or creating individual projects.

Performing Arts provide students with opportunities to perform in the Jazz Band, Marching Band, and Chorale at school functions,
local parades, festivals, Varsity football games, and competitions. HMBHS
students also perform in an annual Spring Musical.

Visual Arts includes art classes that hold quarterly art shows throughout the campus and infrequent open studios.

Athletic Teams allow students to participate in Football,
Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Water Polo, Tennis, Swimming, Cross Country,
Surf, Soccer, Volleyball, Golf, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Track and Field and
Wrestling. The school possesses a world-class baseball facility with
all-weather fields, a state of the art softball complex with concessions and
restrooms, and a state of the art all-weather football field with restrooms
and a concession stands.

Student Groups and Clubs are open to all students. The High
School currently has over 40 clubs including Anime, Animation, Art, Band,
Bicycle, Big Sister/Little Sister, Calculus, Chess, CSF, FFA, Mock Trial,
Gay-Straight Alliance, Gymnastics, Interact, Sixth Man, Junior Statesmen of
America, Model United Nations, Prom, Puente, Seed, Ski, Surf, and Yearbook.
