El Granada Elementary School is a diverse school community that fosters the academic and social development of each student. Among the academic highlights are a school-wide commitment to Reading and Writing Workshop, a robust implementation of hands-on science including a wonderful lab for 4th and 5th grade students, and 38-year tradition of celebrating Arts and Science Day. The El Granada parent community is highly involved as evidenced by the PTO’s commitment and support of the after school and enrichment programs. One such program is the Art in Action program designed around the work of the great and world-recognized masters. Teachers and parents partner to make this a valuable asset. El Granada is the recipient of the 2012 Kent Award for its innovative after school program, the Dolphin Club. Dolphin Club serves students in grade 4-5.
