October 8, 2020 - Proclamation: November as National Native American Heritage Month (Español)

Cabrillo Unified School District and the Coastside community recognize the importance of understanding the history of this area, particularly with regard to honoring the cultures and lives of the Ohlone people and other indigenous peoples who lived here first.

September 10, 2020  - Proclamation: Declaring October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, (LGBTQ) History Month

Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board celebrates and honors its annual celebration of October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTQ) History Month. CUSD recognizes the ongoing need to acknowledge the history and achievements of LGBTQ people, and we support the implementation of programs and curricula that reflect the diversity of LGBTQ people. CUSD recognizes the importance of upholding the legal rights of LGBTQ people, and CUSD shall work toward voluntary self-identification efforts for sexual orientation and gender identity and expression (SOGIE) data collection in our schools while promoting policies and practices protecting LGBTQ people.

Septiembre 10, 2020 - Proclamation: Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15, 2020 – October 15, 2020 (Español)

The Cabrillo Unified School District Board of Trustees hereby recognizes, honors, and celebrates the contributions, heritage, and history of Hispanics, Latinos, Latinas, and/or Latinx people during our annual commemoration and proclamation of Hispanic Heritage Month. 

June 18, 2020 - Resolution: Reaffirming the Responsibility of Cabrillo Unified School District’s Governing Board to Represent All Coastside Students and Constituents

Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board hereby upholds and affirms their responsibility to make policy decisions that represent the diverse interests and collective needs of all CUSD students and all Coastside constituents as a Board of Trustees responsible for setting policies and making decisions that must represent a unified public school district as a whole.

May 27, 2020 - Proclamation: LGBT Pride Month in the Cabrillo Unified School District June 2020

Cabrillo Unified School District does hereby declare the month of June as LGBT Pride month in our schools and invites everyone to reflect on ways we all can live and work together with a commitment to mutual respect and understanding; and furthermore, CUSD recognizes Pride Month by flying the rainbow flag at the District Office and our schools during the month of June.

April 16, 2020 - Proclamation: Autism Awareness Month April 2020

The Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board recognizes and celebrates the countless ways individuals who live on the autism spectrum contribute to and strengthen our communities. The Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board is being asked to encourage the community to “Light It Up Blue” through the month of April to help shine a light on autism.

January 16, 2019 - Proclamation:  African American History Month February 2020

The  Governing Board of the Cabrillo Unified School District that the District takes great pleasure in recognizing February 2020 as African American History Month, urges all Coastside citizens to join in celebrating the accomplishments of African Americans during African American History Month, and encourages the staff and students of CUSD to recognize not only the many different talents of African Americans but also the great achievements, contributions, and sacrifices they have made to create equity and equality for all.

September 12, 2019 - Proclamation: Declaring October as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, (LGBTQ)History Month (Español)

The Cabrillo Unified School District Governing Board supports the rights, freedoms, and equality of those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ). The Governing Board believes that all students deserve to feel safe and welcome in their schools, to be known by their preferred name, gender identity, story, and to see themselves represented in the curricula, in our staff, and in our community.

The Cabrillo Unified School 
District Governing Board recognizes and value the rich history and contributions of immigrants, refugees, and other newcomers to our schools and local communities.

August 8, 2019 Proclamation: Hispanic Heritage Month – September 15, 2019 – October 15, 2019 (Español)

This year the Board of Education formally recognizes the countless contributions that Hispanic Americans have made to this nation and proclaims September 15th – October 15th as Hispanic Heritage Month.
