Join us in recognizing October 2023 as LGBTQ+ History Month!
LGBTQ+ History Month was developed to recognize and celebrate the role of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBTQ+) people in American history, and to ensure that the roles and contributions of LGBTQ+ people are accurately portrayed in K-12 history instruction in California classrooms.
All students deserve to learn about historical figures who are LGBTQ+ and have achieved greater equality for all people through civic, legislative, and judicial action. Join us in educating students about the many contributions of the LGBTQ+ community throughout the history of the United States as well as the discrimination and inequality that the LGBTQ+ community endured and continues to endure.
