January 4, 2021 - Cabrillo Unified School District and California School Employees Association Reach Agreement for 3% Wage Increase for 2019-2020 and Additional 3% Wage Increase for 2020-2021 | Español

At the December 18, 2020 negotiations session between Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) and California School Employees Association (CSEA), the parties reached a tentative agreement to provide CUSD’s classified employees a 3% raise for the 2019-2020 school year (retroactive to July 1, 2019) and a 3% raise for the 2020-2021 school year (effective July 1, 2020).

At the November 23 negotiations session between Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) and Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association (CUTA), the parties reached a tentative agreement to provide District teachers and CUTA-represented certificated employees a 3% raise for the 2019-2020 school year (retroactive to July 1, 2019) and a 3% raise for the 2020-2021 school year (effective July 1, 2020).


November 10, 2020 - Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) and Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association (CUTA) Enter Next Phase of Contract Negotiations: The Factfinding Process | Español

Negotiations have reached an unusual stage for the Cabrillo Unified School District. A few months ago, the Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association (CUTA) declared an impasse in negotiations for the 2019-2020 school year. The parties participated in two mediation sessions with a state-appointed neutral without making any significant progress. Now, at request of CUTA on November 7, 2020, negotiations are at what is called a “Factfinding” stage under the state collective bargaining law.  


August 14, 2020 – CUSD and CUTA Jointly Approve a Negotiated Memorandum of Understanding Guiding Return to School During Remote Learning Due to Covid-19 and Hold a Second Meeting with State Mediator for Negotiations | Español

On Thursday, August 13, 2020, the Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) Governing Board voted to approve a negotiated MOU outlining the working agreements between CUSD and Cabrillo Unified Teachers Association (CUTA) for return to school while in remote learning. CUTA members voted on Wednesday, August 12, to approve the tentative agreement, and with approval of CUSD’s Governing Board, the parties have officially reached an agreement.

Cabrillo Unified School District’s Superintendent Dr. Sean McPhetridge is pleased to officially announce Claire Beltrami will serve CUSD as its new Principal of El Granada Elementary School, effective July 30, 2020. 


January 10, 2020 – Appointment of New Principal of Farallone View Elementary School | Español

Cabrillo Unified School District’s Superintendent Dr. Sean McPhetridge is pleased to officially announce Ms. Amy McVicker will be appointed as the principal at Farallone View Elementary School effective immediately. Ms. McVicker is an experienced educator with sound foundational skills in teaching, learning, and leadership. 


January 9, 2020 – Manuel F. Cunha Intermediate School Building C Safely Reopened | Español

Students, teachers, and staff at Manuel F. Cunha Intermediate School (Cunha) in the Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) celebrated the start of the new school year last August by moving out of portable classrooms and back into the two-story 24,000 square-foot Building C. 


November 8, 2019 – Appointment of New Chief Business Officer | Español

Cabrillo Unified School District (CUSD) is pleased to announce that Mr. Jesus Contreras has been selected and appointed as our new Chief Business Officer. The Board of Education approved the appointment at their regularly scheduled Board Meeting on November 7, 2019.


August 7, 2019 – Approval of Replacement Parcel Tax Measure for the Special Election in November | Español

The Cabrillo Unified School District School Governing Board unanimously voted 5-0 in their August 5, 2019 meeting to approve renewal of a parcel tax measure, with no tax increase, for a Special Election to be held in November.
