School Communications via School Messenger
Cabrillo Unified School District utilizes SchoolMessenger for parental outreach, emergency broadcasts, and student attendance communications. Now parents can receive phone calls, text alerts, and emails about a range of important issues affecting their students’ safety and academic performance.
SchoolMessenger will be used to complement the district’s existing emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of upcoming school events such as statewide testing and parent meetings. The alert service from SchoolMessenger is proven to measurably impact student safety, parental involvement, and staff communications.
Please make sure the school has all updated phone numbers and email. If we have a cell phone number on file for you, and you do not participate in the opt-in invitation to receive SMS text messages, you may receive a one-time opt-in message on the day we launch the campaign. This is to comply with wireless carrier requirements and to protect you against unsolicited messages.
So that you can continue to receive important TEXT messages from the school, we encourage you to reply with “Y” or “YES” or “OPTIN” or “SUBSCRIBE” when you receive such a verification message. To opt-out of all text messages from SchoolMessenger, reply with STOP to the opt-in message.
Please note, although the school does not charge you for this service, it does not pay for text message charges that may be incurred by you for sending or receiving text messages. Check with your wireless carrier for possible charges.
Parents can manage their own contact preferences by using a site that will be given at a later date.
