ARRIVAL - Morning playground supervision begins at 7:30 for all grades. The School District cannot accept responsibility for students arriving at school prior to 7:30 a.m. Students are not to arrive or be left unattended by a parent before that time.
In the 1st trimester, kindergarteners have the option of attending a 20-minute Pre-K session beginning at 7:45, with regular instruction beginning at 8:05. In the 2nd & 3rd trimesters kindergarten instruction begins at 7:45 a.m. School begins at 7:45 for 1st - 5th graders all year.
It is very important that each child arrives at school on time. If a student is consistently tardy, not only does his/her education suffer by missing important instruction, but it also disrupts the classroom and the education of other children. If your child arrives late, he/she is to check in at the office before walking to class.
DISMISSAL - Kindergarten will be dismissed at 12:05 p.m. in the first trimester and at 1:45 p.m. thereafter. The 1st grade and 2/3 classes will be dismissed at 1:45 p.m. The 3/4/5 class will be dismissed at 2:16 p.m.
Since there is no supervision after school, students need to leave promptly after dismissal, unless they are attending the Kings Mountain Children’s Center. The School District cannot accept responsibility for students after they have been released from class.
