Community Service

HMBHS students are required to complete 35 hours of community service (or approved equivalent) as their government/economics class. Students may perform their community service any time during their high school career as a high school student.
Any alternative assignment to the community service requirement should be arranged with their teacher. Students receiving poor or unacceptable evaluations will not have fulfilled the service requirement for the government/economics class.
Listings of community services opportunities can be found in the Counseling Center and on the HMBHS website. Announcements in the daily announcements also alert you to opportunities and are posted with in the daily bulletins link.

The Release Agreement needs to be completed and returned before starting a volunteer job.
The Student Time Sheet is turned in to the student’s current Social Science or History teacher as hours are completed.
If working for a business or organization on a scheduled basis you will also need to download and complete the form below.
Agency and Student Contract
Students are responsible for arranging an interview for a job once they have been referred by the school or someone in the community. It must be a non-profit agency.
Senior transcripts will reflect all Community Service hours accumulated in all four years of high school.
