SAT Subject Tests
The SAT Subject Tests: In addition to the SAT Reasoning Test and/or the ACT, many universities (including the University of California) currently require SAT Subject tests. The best time to take these tests is at the point in the student’s High School career where they are the most knowledgeable in that subject. For example, for students choosing to take the American History or Chemistry tests - the end of the Junior year would be best since most students take these classes in the 11th grade. For tests such as Biology or World History, it would be best for most students to take them at the end of their sophomore year - when they are taking those classes. For a complete list of what subjects are offered as well as more detail on the actual content of each test, go to the following hyperlink on the College Board website: www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/about/SATII.html
