Dear Parents and Students:
Happy New Year! I have lots to report for this month so here we go. February 3rd the teachers have a Staff Development Day. Students are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. During our Staff Development days we are working together to make sure that our daily teaching is streamlined to state standards and then tying our assessments to the standards. I am very proud of the work we are doing.
February 9th we have our second Kindergarten Night for the Immersion Program. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and usually ends by 8:00 p.m. If you have friends that are interested in the Immersion Program spread the news. February 12th is our second Kindergarten tour. We start at 9:00 a.m. in the front office and tour the school and all Kindergarten classes. The 12th is also our Student Store and Movie Night! The week of the 15th we have off for President’s Week. There is a very important PTO Meeting February 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Use Room.
Recently our district has been hosting special Board Meetings in an effort to receive feedback from our community regarding possible budget cuts. At both the Farallone View and El Granada meetings Hatch had a good turn out of parents. On February 23rd at 6:00 p.m. we will be hosting this board meeting in our Multi-Use Room. I encourage you to attend. If you don’t feel comfortable at the mic, the information provided is invaluable to you as a parent and a community member. There will also be time set aside for you to speak for or against the parcel tax. I commend the board and Rob Gaskill the Superintendent for scheduling these meetings. They truly value your input.
