Principal's Letter - February 2012
Dear Parents and Students:
Hope the school year is going well for you and your student! Lots to talk about this month... Please remember to follow the 5 mph speed limit inside our parking lot and watch out for students in the crosswalks. Sometimes leaving a few minutes earlier each morning can make all the difference.
We finish our Kinder Immersion Parent Meetings February 2nd at 6:30 p.m. in B#1. Attending one of these meetings is mandatory for students to enter our lottery. Friday morning at 9:05 a.m. will be the final Kindergarten tour. If you have questions about the CUSD transitional Kindergarten Program, please check our school website under Kindergarten Registration. February 7th all students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. as our teachers will have a collaboration day to discuss best practices within the classroom. The Coastside Fire District will be present two student assemblies on February 8th (3rd-5th grade @ 9:15 a.m. and K-2 grade @ 10:30 a.m.). Our PTO will have their monthly meeting in the MU Room 2/13 at 6:30 p.m. We will be observing President's Week February 20th.
Our Student Leadership Team is hard at work! Presently they have planned three Spirit Days this year; February 7th is Sports Jersey Day (wear your favorite local, college, or pro jersey), March 20th is Crazy Hair Day (the name says it all), and April 17th is Pajama Day (wear your PJs to school!). Additionally, Hatch School Beautification Day is scheduled for April 27th, and the students have started to accept used children's books for our annual student book fair June 1st. You can drop them off in my office.
Quote of the Month:
