Cunha Dances 2011-2012

There are 5 dances (10/7,12/2, 2/10, 4/13, 6/1) during the school year that are held on Friday nights in the Cunha gym. Cunha dances are open to all current 6th, 7th and 8th graders - CUNHA STUDENTS ONLY

They are chaperoned by teachers and parents, and complimentary refreshments are available, as well as slices of pizza for a nominal fee. Because this dance tends to be heavily attended, I ask for your assistance with the following:

Your cooperation with these procedures will help maintain an orderly flow of tired students and parents.

OPEN HOUSE AT CUNHA Wednesday, March 28 @ 6:30 PM

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 28 @ 6:30 for the annual Cunha Open House. This evening will begin at 6:30 PM. The classrooms will be open from 7:00 PM for you to venture through, meet staff members and view the many fine products of our students. We will conduct a new student orientation at 6:30 PM in the M.U. for our incoming 5th grade students. The parent orientation will be prior to Open House. This provides an opportunity for incoming parents to come and learn about the school and programs and then be able to go out to the classrooms and meet Cunha teachers. Incoming 5th graders will have already visited our campus during the month of March. We hope these activities will help ease the transition from Elementary to Middle School. Please join us for this most enjoyable evening.

Ms. McCall was born in Piedra Negras, Coahuila, Mexico and immigrated to the US when she was six years old. She grew up in Eagle Pass Texas. Guadalupe went to Sul Ross State University to become a teacher. This presentation is open to everyone and is free of charge.

New Leaf logoNew Leaf Gift Cards to Benefit Cunha's Ed Fund

Do you shop at New Leaf? If so, why not purchase New Leaf gift cards and let every dollar you spend count towards New Leaf's outreach to local schools. Cards are available in denominations of $50, $100, $250, and $500. You only buy a card one time; after that, the same card is reloaded without your ever having to surrender it. The higher the amount on the card, the more New Leaf gives to our school. Here's how it works:

  1. Email melacey@pacbell.net me with your request for a gift card.
  2. State the amount you want on the card ($50, $100, $250, or $500).
  3. Write a check for that amount payable to Cunha Ed Fund.
  4. Mail the check to Marian Lacey, P.O. Box 371253, Montara, CA 94037
  5. I will purchase your gift cards from New Leaf and deliver them to you.
  6. After that, you will receive a bi-monthly email letting you know I will be placing another order. At that point, decide if you need your card reloaded for that month. If so, respond to email with the amount you wish and once again, mail a check to Marian Lacey.

Thank you for your support. Marian Lacey, Cunha Ed Fund President

CUB AGENDAS. A reminder, we are asking for a donation of $10.00 that is the replacement cost of the agenda. We hope to be able to retrieve the costs and finance the purchase of the agendas again next year. Please write a check payable to the Cunha PTA and send it to school today. If we do not receive enough donations, we may be forced to eliminate the practice of using these valuable organizers.
